The results showed that PPI drugs can cause vitamin B12 and magnesium deficiency in up   to 65% of people who take it regularly. The long-term use of this type of medication has been known to cause serious  problems  and has even been known to be sometimes fatal.

The author of the study, Dr. Ziyad Al-Aly, an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Medicine in Washington, USA, says that despite the large amount of data taken into account, the result was the same There is an increased risk of death for PPI users.

“People think that PPIs are very safe because they are easily accesible, but there are real risks of taking these drugs, especially for long periods of time. If I absolutely need a PPI, I would take it. But I will not take it if I do not really need it. Explains Professor Al-Aly.
